In the mini theme of snippets of my life going up on the blog, I thought it might be fun to do a snippet of my day. It’s kind of like a creative diary entry for one single day, where I talk about the good, bad, and inspiring. I saw this prompt go up on a couple different blogs a while back, I guess it’s better late than never!
WHAT IS THE FIRST THING THAT YOU DID THIS MORNING Every morning I wakeup 45 minutes before I need to actually get ready for the day. I make decaf tea, go through my emails, check the blog, and watch the world wakeup from my window. Yes, I know this means less sleep, but I average 6-8 hours every night with the new schedule I’ve forced myself to adapt to, so I’m ready to get up in the morning around 7:30 a.m. So that’s what I did this morning, although I added in some packing since I move out in 3 weeks.
DESCRIBE ONE CHALLENGE YOU FACED Today is my day that I have off from work, so I planned on getting a lot done- I wanted to go to class, work on homework for next week, run a few miles, pack, and then go to my orientation for study abroad. Nature had a completely different schedule. I got back from my morning class, tried to get to work, but generally felt really icky. So for the first time all semester, I took a nap. It was challenging that my plans didn’t work out the way I had wanted them to.
DESCRIBE ONE ACCOMPLISHMENT Today, after days of working and playing phone tag, I finally got to buy my plane ticket to Rome next fall. I tweaked my knee the other day, but I hobble-danced around my room jamming to Waving through a Window for a good 15 minutes.
DESCRIBE ONE THING YOU LEARNED I learned that pushing myself to get stuff done isn’t the way to go, because then I end up with days like this where I can’t function at all. It’ll always catch up to me in the long run. I need to give myself more breaks, and today was a good one.
WHAT IS THE LAST THING YOU DID FOR SCHOOL TODAY I took an Italian test! I’m in love with learning new languages-I’ve actually already completed my school’s 2 year language requirement three times…and I’m a sophomore. Oops. The test was super easy and I got to leave early!
AND JUST FOR FUN, DID YOU EAT ANYTHING TASTY? My friend Aaron made pot roast with potatoes, carrots, and onions for all of us tonight. It was good to have a dinner with all of my friends because they are my family away from home. Plus, the food was SO GOOD.
Have a great weekend!
