Kindness: the quality of being friendly, generous, considerate, and caring.
I drafted this post when I was still in Chicago for school. I was surrounded by students who were stressed, sleep deprived, and broke from the semester. Tensions were running high, and everyone wasn’t being the nicest.
Being kind is one of my strongest traits. It’s something I’m proud of myself for and one of my biggest faults. (In the sense that I have a hard time standing up for myself because I’m afraid to be mean.)
After I was surrounded by this mild hostility that is finals week, I realized something.
We need a LOT more kindness in the world.
And while I try to provide a lot of that, I can’t do it alone.
So here’s your reminder for this week. Help someone in need. Smile. Hug someone. Tell your loved ones how special they are.
As Ellen says, be kind to one another.
It’s not hard to do, and it can make a huge difference.
Go out and make a difference in someone’s day.
