As the year comes around to a close, I thought it might be helpful if I wrote about what I brought to college with me. Before coming to college, I was super stressed about what I would need and what I wouldn’t because I had honestly no idea either way and just had to rely on my mom and dad to get me through. If this sounds like you, fear no more! Here is my packing list in a nice little graphic.

Besides giving you a list, I thought I’d give you a second of advice. As someone who has gone through the packing process for the first time, I’m telling you, don’t stress. Or at least try not to. It isn’t worth it. You’ll be okay. In order to avoid this stress, make sure you don’t leave all of your packing to the last week before you leave. You will forget something. Instead, pick up stuff every now and then over the last month or so of summer and you’ll be fine.
Most importantly, be excited! College is a new stage of your life with plenty of changes. It’ll be an exciting, crazy ride, so buckle your seat belts kids!
This is a list focused on if you are moving into a dorm room without a kitchen or bathroom, so if you have that, feel free to modify this as needed! I also didn’t list clothes because I can’t give you an exact number of your shoes to bring…well, I could, but you probably wouldn’t listen. Don’t overpack! You need less than you think, and the more you bring, the more laundry you have to do.
