Happy Weekend, loves! You made it!
I don’t know about you all, but I’ve had an absolutely crazy week. From tests, to work, to even just trying to sleep at least 6 hours a night, everything has been complete and utter chaos. Like always, there are a few things that I learned this week-hopefully some of these might help you guys out, or you can just giggle at my misfortune. :)
1. Cold temperatures feel so much worse after we have some warm days.
Yes, I know this should be obvious. It’s just frustrating!! We have three days of upper 60s and then 30 hits again and I’m dying. I will never get used to the Midwest playing this cool trick on us. It happens every year, I get my hopes up for spring, and then winter comes right on back.
This describes my feelings perfectly.
2. Ice is just as slippery at 50 degrees as it is at -20.
There’s a story behind this one. Me and three other students didn’t see the big icy patch on the crosswalk because it was covered with water. Needless to say, we all ended up on the ground in scattered piles on books, coffee cups, and backpacks. Not so funny for us, but extremely comical to any bystanders. This also happened at 8 a.m. Hopefully we were able to make a few people’s mornings better!
3. Trying to recode a free WordPress template is not worth the time.
Or the fact that you are saving money for that matter. I’m fairly well versed with coding-this blog is self hosted but it is run through WordPress, but the free templates are nearly impossible. I’ve been working on my online portfolio-I’ll share the link with you guys soon-and wanted to try to use WordPress to get it up and running. Three hours, a gatorade, and a minor meltdown later, I was back to square one. I’ve since switched to Portfoliobox. They are amazing! 10 out of 10, would recommend to a friend. So, if you are in search of a free portfolio hosting website, make sure to go check them out!
4. Air filters can cause a lot of problems.
Our air filter didn’t get changed at the semester break like the rest of the girls on our floor.
The amount of dust we have in our room is ridiculous and unmanageable.
The lesson from this is, when the maintenance worker says he can’t empty your air filter, still have him do it.
Friends don’t let friends suffocate on dust.
5. The last month of the semester is CRAZY busy.
I’m not sure I even have time to breathe, let alone sleep! Keep an eye out for a blog post on dealing with end of the semester stress-it’ll be up soon!
That’s about all I can think of for this week, although I’m sure I learned something else.
How was your week? Comment below and let me know!
I hope you all have an amazing weekend!
